June Highlights
Kai West Collaboration

Fale Kai and Maara Kai Coordinators Litara Faresa and Elmma Richmond spoke about the transitioning from handing out food parcels to a social supermarket model. Embedded in the transition was the implementation of the maara kai. Fresh vegetables straight out of the garden and into the parcels. Social supermarket model is a process by which families have autonomy to choose what goes into food parcels at an affordable price using a point system managed by Seed2Harvest.
Master Chef volunteer, supporting S2H volunteers.

Introducing our 'Master Chef' Hein Htet from Myanmar. Every Tuesdays he comes into Seed2Harvest and whips up a 3-course gourmet cuisine for the Fale Kai volunteers who are readying the space for community Fale-Kai throughout the week.
We are so grateful for his contribution to support our volunteers as he gives of his own time to bless our team. Hein Htet is also participating in our garden workshops and gaining confidence to speak english.

Hein Htet is literary Myanmar's award winning Master Chef, who has relocated to Aotearoa to build a new life with his family. We thank you Hein Htet.
Preservation Workshops have begun...starting with Chutney!
Learning to make chutney with Elmma has been a huge hit, new community members have enrolled. It has been epic and lovely to celebrate our diverse community together.
Women's Connect making Heart Cushions as gifts to patients at the Waitakere Hospital
Our Women's Koinonia bible study group are preparing to show acts of service to the community. They have chosen the Waitakere Hospital as a place to bless and donate these precious gifts to patients who have undergone surgery. It is our hope that these heart cushions will convey the love and prayers we feel for every patient and family that is blessed with one.
Men's Breakfast Connect with Ps Joe Faga
Our Men's Breakfast is becoming a wonderful space for men of all ages to gather to hear God's Word and sharpen each other as fathers and brothers in Christ. We were blessed to have Ps Joe Faga share a powerful word of empowerment and encouragement to the men. This is our monthly Men's Breakfast open to community so why not come along and connect with other men - you will not be disappointed!
